Gimnazija Živinice

The purpose of education in a gymnasium is to develop intellectual breadth in students, instill a desire for new knowledge and actions, foster investigative curiosity, and equip them for rational and creative thinking as well as independent learning.

about us

The "JU Gimnazija Živinice" was established in 1964 by the then municipal authorities in the premises of the old part of the First Elementary School. Later, it was relocated to the area behind the current Municipality building, and in 1978, with the construction of a new school center, it continued its operations in the space where it is located today. With the establishment of focused education in the early eighties, traditional gymnasiums were abolished. Right after the war, in 1996, two gymnasium classes were formed within the framework of the Mixed Secondary School in Živinice. In 2004, the gymnasium was registered as an independent school. From 1996 until this year, four gymnasium classes have been regularly enrolled, and the enrollment of a larger number of classes is limited by the space used by two schools: "JU Gimnazija Živinice" and "JU MSŠ Živinice."
